Bon Iver - 8 circle

Esta review está em Inglês, porque foi feita para um trabalho da disciplina de Inglês, mas eu gostei tanto dela que tive de a pôr no Elephant.

Bon Iver is an American indie folk band founded in 2007 by the singer-songwriter Justin Vernon.

The first impression that came to my mind when I first hear this song was his mystery, the instrumentals were a mystery, his lyrics a mystery too and me not being able to solve this puzzle I had to hear this song at least 10 times to come to something close to a conclusion.

After doing some research about this track lyrics I found out that the lyrics were a reference to Inferno the first part of the epic poem Divine Comedy by the writer Dante Alighieri, but I will try to make my own interpretation.

This song is has so much meaning, it’s about eternity and philosophy, its about running away from troubles and being able to face them and is about something incomprehensible to humanity and like every song in the world this song is also about love.

After reading some articles and seeing all the symbols he put in his official video I came to the conclusion that this artist use satanic references in is songs, and this track is no exception.

And now, after I talked about the lyrics in depth I will try to explain how this music makes me feel.

This track is somber and kind of warm, yet also raw and cold. It's like waking up from a good night’s sleep on top of a mountain, to an early sunrise hitting your face. And as you get up out of your warm sleeping bag, the cold air hits you. Chilling, yet welcoming, you don't cringe or shiver because the warmth you still have within the sleeping bag is keeping you warm inside. You just feel. Alive. And know everything is going to end up alright.

This song is still a mystery, and if I was to address every single meaning that this song has this will not be a short text but a long essay.
